  • Never burn candles unattended. Always keep lighted candles within sight.
  • Never burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.
  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
  • Keep wick trimmed to ¼ inch.
  • If candle smokes, or the flame flickers or becomes too high, then extinguish candle, allow to cool, trim wick, and re-light.
  • Extinguish candle if flame becomes too close to container.
  • Place on a secure, level, heat-resistant surface away from flammables.
  • Keep candles out of drafts, and occasionally rotate candles to help burn evenly.
  • Remove any hang-tags or packaging prior to lighting candle.
  • Do not use glass container candles with candle warmers.
  • Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains in bottom of container.
  • Do not touch or move container candle while wax is melted.
  • To prevent fading, do not display candles for long periods in direct sunlight, under fluorescent lighting, or other strong lighting.

Tips for wax potpourri use.Click to see Heart Melters™ wax potpourri from The AppleSmith

  • Our wax potpourri is not edible. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store at temperatures below 100°F.
  • Melted wax in tart warmers is hot and can stain wood and fabric.
  • Use only in tart warmers that do not exceed the wax flash point.
  • NEVER discard molten wax down drain.
  • Allow wax to cool before handling any tart warmer.
  • Do not overfill tart warmer tray.

Our Heart Melters™ wax potpourri can be used with tart warmers, or it can be arranged on a candle pan for a fragrant display.

    For Tart Warmer Use:
  • Add wax pieces to tart warmer.
  • Do not overfill.
  • Add more tarts as needed.
  • Break up larger pieces before adding to melter.
  • When scent is gone, discard old wax and replace with new wax pieces.

    For Fragrant Display Use:
  • Arrange wax pieces on a candle pan.

  • To rejuvenate scent, lightly blow dry for 1-3 seconds at a time. Allow to dry. Repeat as necessary.

  • Other wax potpourri tips:
  • Some of our Heart Melters™ wax potpourri packages come with a pillar candle. After candle is used, any remaining wax can be broken up and placed in a tart warmer for added enjoyment.

Tips for candle wreath care.Click to see Candle Wreaths from The AppleSmith

  • Candle wreaths from The AppleSmith are made from real sliced fruit and require special care.
  • All candle wreaths are coated with a finishing spray making them inedible - DO NOT EAT.
  • When not in use, store candle wreaths in their original box in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid extended periods of direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Candle wreaths do best in arid climates or in air conditioned environments. If they do become soft from moisture, they can be re-dried in a food dehydrator.
  • As with dried florals, the life of a candle wreath can be extended by re-spraying it with Dried Floral Preservative (available at hobby and craft stores).
