Thank-you for visiting our webstore. We live on a farm in south-central Nebraska near Holdrege along with our 14 children. We enjoy gardening and also singing as a family for area churches and care homes.

The AppleSmith started in 1999 when Sheila created some original dried apple candle wreaths. In 2002, it became "the family business" after Mark was one of thousands laid off by a major computer company. Since then, we have added our own line of uniquely designed, hand-poured container candles and wax potpourri tarts. Now, the whole family gets involved making our candle products.

Special thanks go to Sheila's brother Dyrek Ayre of Hays, Kansas for designing The AppleSmith logo and product labels. Thanks to our friends and family (board of directors) who gave us much needed encouragement, their honest opinion about product ideas, and who helped with many hours of candle testing. Thanks also go to Grow Nebraska for its support, encouragement, and guidance enabling this small business to get off the ground. Above all, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for His daily mercy upon our lives. May Christ alone be glorified.
